Barefoot Contessa Walking Bare Feet on the Snow...

Bored with your regular lifestyle? try something different :) walk barefoot on the snow - as there is more and more of it. Keeps falling and falling....

Just red lately in our press about very extreme vacation (expiation vacation - couldn't find proper term - any help?). After googling this very specific subject, I found only one matching result. Hmm... If you are interested read it here.

I haven't walked barefoot in the snow since I was a child. I wouldn't like to do that now. Makes me cold just thinking about it. Isn't it funny how when we get older we wouldn't attempt some of the things that gave us delight when we were children.

Walking barefoot in the snow?
Why not:)
If you have ever visited a sauna in Scandinavia you go in the sauna three times for about 10 minutes each time. If you are lucky enough to be near a lake, jump in the water for a refreshing swim, any time of year. When lakes are frozen, hardy folk drill a hole in the lake and go for a short swim. If there is no lake, roll in the snow to cool off like a native.

Hi Ewa, is this your garden on the photo? It looks wonderful!
I am not so sure if I would like to walk barefoot in the cold snow - but it sounds interesting.
Have a nice sunday, Monika

How I miss our white European Christmas!! ( I am from Slovakia) here in Australia. I do not miss long freezing winters but White Christmas is so special.
Love your garden, Ewa.

This garden scene in the snow is just breathtaking, Ewa! I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to walk barefoot in it, though. I checked out the link--I'm not sure what word you were looking for, but "extreme" works well. I had no idea there were so many billionaires in Russia these days. I don't think I'd ever be that bored!

Eeek - bare feet in the snow, I'm too old for that now!
Your garden looks lovely in the snow. I adore snow and the way it transforms a scene. I'm sad we get so little where I live.

when I see a snowy picture like that and hear about walking in the snow I do not long after Poland, but after Sweden, my second patria, after my country cabin in the woods on the lake Maelar, where we had a real (wood heated) sauna and could roll in the snow in winter. It hurt a bit - like a thousand tiny needles, lol, but boy, you felt and looked about 10 years younger after such an exercise (loosing all layers of dead skin at once). Now, living in a "tropical paradise" (everything's relative) I can swim in the Caribbean sea every day of a year... but I can't enjoy snow... other than on someone elses pictures :-(

Brrrr, too cold for my taste and anyway the snow is all gone here but we did have lots of fun yesterday with it. And little puppy Tara did the barefoot walking thingy in the snow, does that count? ;-)

Interesting article! It made me very happy that I'm not a Russian millionaire and bored out of my skull.

Your garden is just as beautiful in its winter fairytale outfit. Beautiful!

P.S. ''This is Russia, home to an increasing number of billionaires and unbridled egos ''....sounds familiar. I guess, with all that money, they should have paid their brain bills first. I can't imagine ever being bored to that extent. Thank God there's a 'savior' out there to liberate them from their financial dilemmas...

I have to confess, I do it sometimes, walking barefoot on the snow....when I walk to the letterbox in the morning (and being to lazy to put shoes on ;-) !!). You have very warm feet afterwards :-) !!
